TGIF, y'all!
Maybe it's all the paperwork I've been doing this week, but I haven't been this excited for the weekend in a while. One of the biggest reasons I'm excited for the weekend is because today I'll be helping style some runway looks during my local fashion week - Fashion Week New Orleans

Speaking of styling, here is the first look in which I styled this necklace, these bracelets, and this ring by Porter Lyons. For this look I combined the sophistication of Rachel Zoe and her undying love of flared jeans with the polished beachy vibes of Tory Burch. There's just something so classic about a great pair of (flared or skinny) jeans. I had been trying to track down a flared pair like this for months now. All while doing my best to avoid pairs that appeared to have been used in That 70's Show. Thankfully Banana Republic came to the rescue.

A tip when shopping for flared jeans like these is by first realizing that no, not everyone can wear them and the end of the day, the may not be your most flattering cut (but that doesn't you shouldn't experiment!) Second when choosing a fit, look for ones that are snug, dark washed, and hit the floor with a couple inches of fabric. The goal is for your legs to look long and you want to create a seamless line, which that extra fabric will give to you. Especially in heels. Lastly, make sure they fit closely around your knee. I know it sounds strange but trust me, it will help create the illusion of longer legs and give you a more streamline look.

I hope those tips were helpful and I hope y'all have a nice weekend!

Hey y'all! It's been a while.

For this post, I've teamed up with one of my favorite local designers- Porter Lyons, to accessorize me for the two Fashion Weeks that happen down here in NOLA- Southern Design Week and Fashion Week New Orleans.

I chose some of my favorite pieces from the Alligator and most recent, the VooDoo collection. I had been in love with these pieces since I first set eyes at the launch party last year. They're elegant yet edgy design allows them to be easily taken from day to night. And although they can be worn any time of year, these gems are definitely on my 'must have' list' of Spring/Summer essentials. I'm a fan of any necklace that can make a statement and these certainly do just that.

Stay tuned this week to see how I've styled them!

Thanks for reading! xo

Ahhhh hello 2015!! I apologize for the lack of content these past couple of months. I'm afraid that work, holiday chaos, and just life in general caught up with me.

Despite the insanity, I'm happy to say though that this New Year is already off to a lovely start! This past week was arguably the best one of the year. I ended 2014 in jeans and a t-shirt spending time with one of my favorite people. It was perfect.

As for my outfit, it was one of my traditional all-black looks that featured my favorite winter coat and pair of shiny leather pants (I swear those pants never get old)

Thank you all so much for reading and following along in 2014! I hope your new year is off to a great start! xo
