Hello lovelies!
Twice a year my library hosts an 'Herb Fest'. I was quite surprised to learn that this year's featured herb was rose. I had no idea that roses are herbs; you can even eat the petals! (as long as the rose bush hasn't been sprayed with chemicals)

The library's herb garden (where the Fest was located) is a beautiful display of God-given colors from eye-catching violet sage flowers and delicate yellows to spring green leaves and magenta chard stalks.  Not only is the garden a feast for the eyes, inspiring spring and summer thoughts, but it is also a wonderful basket of goodness for the table.

Linda Franzo, owner of The Passionate Platter, made us some delicious and unique foods!

The first image above is of rose marshmallows. They were SO good! The second picture is rose petal and cream cheese dip and the third shot is of dark chocolate rose sugar truffles. Oh goodness! I could have eaten the whole tray! She also made rose petal and red onion tea sandwiches that were to die for!

For the event, I was dressed in my usual charcoal + black combo and while walking through the garden and vendor tables, I spotted a new friend, Mary (in the picture above). She not only had on a wonderful smile but also a gorgeous vintage blue polka dotted dress.

Before I left, I made sure to buy a bourbon rose bush as an early Mother's Day gift for my mom and
two blueberry bushes for me!
