Hey y'all! For today's post I'm throwing it back to a coupe weeks ago during Art For Art's Sake - an event held the first Saturday of October in New Orleans that takes place throughout the Warehouse Arts District and all along Magazine St.

Art galleries, various boutiques, and shops along Magazine stay open late and usually serve food/drinks and offer shopping specials. Think of it as a giant block party. This year was my first time going and I really enjoyed it! The weather was absolutely perfect and I brought my Dad and sister/blog photographer along with me. Way too much fun.

The first stop was one of my favorite accessory boutiques, Trendz.  My friend/owner Jenny and her Mom track down the trendiest and fashion-forward items to feature in their store and everything is very reasonably priced. I'm (obviously) a hopeless addict. My most recent purchase was the gorgeous fringe purse I'm wearing in the pic above. After that we headed to a few art galleries and a really cool antique shop I'd been dying to check out, Right before we walked in I spotted Bryan Cranston walking by with his wife!! I didn't get a picture with him but but it was so cool!

I can't wait til next year! In the mean time, I'll be enjoying this fantastic fall weather.

Recently, I have been [somewhat] reinventing and editing my style. (Maybe it's the New Year?)
I've taken all the items out of my closet that just aren't ''me'' or that I've simply never worn and have replaced them with some updated basics. Although this striped Forever21 top made the cut, over the last few months I've purchased several different versions of it and they have proved to be some of the best pieces in my closet! They go with every and anything and can be worn any time of year. The same principle applies to skinny jeans and jackets, invest in simple, classic pieces that you can get the most wear out of.

I've also found myself being attracted to neutrals instead of  brightly-colored items, (I prefer to accessorize with color) and to items (mainly jewelry) with a bit of an edge. Like instead of a pearl bracelet, I'd go for a thick faux-gold chain link bracelet with a tassel. [etc]

Hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for some slightly edgier posts to come! xo

Lately my style has had quite an edge to it. I've been
sporting simple, usually all-black looks, spiked bracelets,
  and anything with studs.

I purchased this gorgeous leopard skirt at Target several
weeks ago and I just love how versatile it is! I've paired it
with everything from a white leather jacket and black button-
down top to a deep cherry colored tank top, and most recently,
my faux leather blouse from The Limited!

P.S Stay tuned for the outfit posts starring the items I
purchased from Ann Taylor, BeBe, and TopShop while in Chicago!

Happy Friday! I've been meaning to post these pictures for a
while now, but thanks to work and school it's taken longer than I
wanted. These pictures were taken about a week ago on my birthday
( Feb. 5 )

A wonderful friend of mine ( you know who you are ;) ) came over and made me those delicious blueberry pancakes and surprised me with the strawberry pie! It was absolutely wonderful and definitely one the best desserts I've ever had.

Due to the rainy weather we've been having the rest of my birthday was spent relaxing at home with my family and watching
' How I Met Your Mother '.

// Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day! Have a great weekend ! //
