What do you get when the organizers of Fashion Week New Orleans meet up with the care givers of Children's Hospital ?  Wonderful Things! That's what!

Friday evening, in the auditorium at Children's Hospital, several young ladies who are receiving treatment had the opportunity to work with Fashion Week New Orleans models Jessica Mushtare and Brandy Miller, along with Makeup Artists Brooke Allbritton and Lauren Michel.

Each participant had their nails and makeup done, and were provided with outfits from Trendz Boutique as well as jewelry and accressories!

After a little 'model training', they each did a runway walk before their friends and family for what turned out to be a fantastic time of fun and goodness.

Great job ladies! I can't wait until next year!

It's so nice that Fall is finally rolling around. And you know what that means?? I get to bust out
my fringed purses,  brown riding boots, and big comfy sweaters! Down here in Louisiana the weather can't seem to decide if it's Summer or Fall, so any time the weather gets really cool I make sure to take advantage of it!  This year I'm especially looking forward to sporting some cool 70's inspired looks.
I'm really loving the fringe trend. Fringe boots, bags, heels, jackets, you name it!
As you can see here, I reached for the largest display of my love for fringed items, I spotted this beauty while walking through Target and I had to have it! It's perfect. You can wear this statement bag with a
white t-shirt and jeans and red lip and still look super put together.

Another reason I'm looking forward to Fall this year, I'm going to get my first taste of NOLA
Fashion Week ! ( New Orleans Louisiana)

'' Biannually, NOLAFC hosts NOLA Fashion Week (NOLAFW) to provide Southern born or based designers a platform to gain exposure, increase sales and professional contacts.
During each week long season of NOLAFW – Fall/Winter held in March and Spring/Summer held in October: 30+ events are held at various locations in and around the Greater New Orleans area.  Along side designer-focused runway shows and presentations, events include a regional Retail Shopping Day as well as a Fashion Market.  Open to buyers and the public, NOLAFW’s Fashion Market features emerging independent Southern based and born designer collections, as well as local artisan brands.''

Birds Fly Away

Outfit Details : Jeans- Aeropostale, Top- The Limited, Black Bag- A gift, Loafers- Steve Madden ::

Don't you just love printed tops? I've seen this sparrow print everywhere lately.
I found this shirt a few months ago and I've been wearing it everywhere! Tucked
in a black pencil skirt to church on Sunday, with jeans to work, and the day I took these
photos I was going to New Orleans with my Dad. Another thing I love about this shirt is
how it cinches at the waist. It's a very flattering look for pretty much any body type and the
    color is also amazing!

Being the heel loving girl that I am, and naturally having nothing in my closet less than 4
inches high, I decided it was time to buy some- as my Dad would say ' real shoes'.
I came across these Steve Madden loafers about a week ago and I thought 'PERFECT!'
What could be more 'real' than a suede Steve Madden loafer?? ;) They've proved to be quite
comfortable as well as stylish. As for the rest of the outfit I wore my black quilted bag and
   my usual cluster of jewelry.

~ Hope you all have had a happy Monday! Have a great week!~
